Vivian Shao Chen is an interior designer specializing in high end residential design.

She has over 15 years of architectural training and professional experience. She focuses on residential interiors and lifestyle design, including home goods and clothing.

Vivian's extensive training and experience as an architectural designer uniquely position her to envision and create comprehensive spaces that seamlessly blend architecture, interiors, and decor. Her passion for interior design is the culmination of a lifetime dedicated to creative expression across various mediums and scales. No matter the project, the work always stems from the notion of “elevating the everyday”— finding beauty and joy in the mundane.

Her pursuits in various design fields— architecture, interiors, pottery (her work has been notably sold at the Noguchi Museum in New York City), sewing, and fashion patternmaking— all come from an endless search for understanding of who we are authentically. She believes that there is true fulfillment that comes from understanding one’s self. Our built environments are a critical piece to telling one’s story.

Following a Master of Architecture from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from McGill University, Vivian amassed over a decade of experience as a design lead and project architect at internationally renowned firms. Her timeless designs draw inspiration from extensive international travel where she continually expands her creative horizons and deepens her understanding of texture, flow, and heritage craftsmanship.
