After we purchased our new home, we were overwhelmed by the prospect of turning it into a warm, elevated space that reflected our personal style. On our own, the rooms felt disjointed, and we struggled with making cohesive design choices. That’s when we decided to hire Vivian Chen, who came highly recommended by friends with impeccable taste.

From the moment we started working with Vivian, we felt an immediate sense of relief. She took the time to understand our preferences and lifestyle. Her guidance and ideas transformed our home in ways we hadn’t considered. While she nailed the production value, what we didn’t expect was how she made the house work for each member of the family.

What we loved most about working with Vivian was her attention to detail, combined with the ability to seamlessly blend functionality with aesthetics, creating spaces that are both beautiful and practical.

The results exceeded our expectations. Our home now feels elevated and like a true reflection of us—every room is curated and harmonized. We had complete peace of mind, which was truly welcomed after some of the renovation work we had done prior.

Thanks to Vivian, our house finally feels like home.

I could not speak more highly of or recommend Vivian enough. She is incredibly knowledgeable and talented in her craft. She went above and beyond, walking me through every step of the design process from concept to completion with no detail overlooked.

Her presentations were always so well prepared and beautifully presented and helped to ensure that we were on the same page. The visualization tools she provided with the renderings were incredibly helpful in my ability to make decisions.

She is an incredible resource in how the architectural details assist in telling the design story. Vivian is extremely knowledgeable in this area; the architectural details from the crown to the base molding all speak the same language. I sourced an antique mantel from the Federal period to be used as the range hood and Vivian was meticulous in making sure the moldings spoke to the existing details on the antique mantelpiece. I also truly appreciated when she’d pull me back to ensure historical accuracy. If I had an idea that competed with the overall goal of Federal/Georgian period architecture she’d find examples to bridge my idea with the goal and the outcome was far better than I could dream up on my own. This was an invaluable partnership.
